In the South, one of our absolute favorite weekend activities is brunching with the girls, and this Sunday was no exception! I had the honor of attending the New Orleans Fashion Council’s monthly brunch, which boasts an exciting new theme each month. This month’s theme was Baubles and Bloggers, hosted at Ste. Marie, a lovely restaurant in downtown New Orleans, LA. The brunch featured an amazing prix fixe menu, 25 cent mimosas, and trunk shows by talented local artisans – jewelry designers Stay by Mar and Saint Claude and leather goods designer Katie Grace.

If you haven’t made it down to New Orleans yet, you should definitely add it to your travel wish list, if only for the food! Sunday Brunch is a long standing New Orleans tradition, and Ste. Marie certainly gets it right. We ate from the prix fixe menu, and the selections were spot on! We started with the perfect summer salad, featuring gorgonzola, pecans and green apples. For the entree, I went with the shrimp and grits, and it certainly did not disappoint. We topped it all off with the scrumptious chocolate creme brulee for dessert, then with our bellies full and happy, we set out to mix and mingle with the other bloggers!
One of the most exciting parts of this month’s brunch was the impressive list of guest bloggers in attendance – Keiko Lynn, Saucy Glossie, Eat.Sleep.Wear., My Style Pill, and Brooklyn Blonde, along with some great local bloggers. I am so inspired by their blogs on a daily basis, and it was an honor to get to meet a few of them in person. If you aren’t familiar with their blogs, I would highly recommend giving them a read! I also had the pleasure of meeting Andi Eaton, co-founder of NOLA Fashion Council, blogger at SweetHEART Social Club, and overall fabulous fashionista! Besides truly being a sweetheart, she is doing amazing things for the fashion industry in Southern Louisiana, and she is definitely one to watch!

Another exciting thing about Sunday brunch is picking out what to wear! I chose to go “Fully Frocked” in FC goodies from head to toe – couldn’t resist! I wore an Aztec print maxi dress by Sketchbook paired with a white sleeveless batwing blouse by Tulip. The multi-colored chevron stackable bracelets topped it all off perfectly. All items can be found at your local Frock Candy store.
My sister and I had a great time enjoying our brunch (and mimosas!), shopping, and meeting these amazing girls. Hope you had a great weekend as well!
