This Weekend: Purple & Gold Fashion Show

If you’re a Baton Rouge local and die-hard LSU fan like us, you’ll definitely want to check out the Purple & Gold Fashion Show at The Office tonight! The show will feature looks from Frock Candy and several other local boutiques, all set to the tunes of DJ Jive. You can find out more details on their Facebook page. After the show, you’ll be able to shop the looks in stores and online! Hope to see you there!

Not in the Baton Rouge area but craving some fun fashion? Here’s a few events coming up across the country:

  • Fashion’s Night Out is a global event held on September 6, with the center stage in NYC. The event promises “special limited-edition products, celebrity appearances, and unforgettable performances,” so it’s not to be missed!
  • The DTLA Fashion Trucks & Sample Sale is held on the last Thursday of every month in downtown Los Angeles. Kind of like a food truck, but for clothes instead!

Ready for the weekend yet? We sure are! If you’re going to be in the Baton Rouge area this Friday, July 20, here’s a fun event to add to your social calendar:

The fashion show will feature clothing and accessories from the ever so fashionable Perkins Rowe retailers, and will be hosted at Zolia Bistro in Downtown Baton Rouge. Doors open at 9pm and the show starts at 11pm, and part of the proceeds will benefit the BR Walls Project, a movement to beautify Baton Rouge with artistic murals painted on walls throughout the downtown area. Fashion, fun, and a great community cause – you won’t want to miss this!

For our April lookbook we chose to feature cool pops of neon – and what better way to showcase the retro hues than on a nostalgic backdrop? Enter Kerry Beary’s Atomic Pop Shop – a mid century modern gallery full of classic vinyl records, vintage nicknacks, the coolest pinball machine, a jukebox, and one-of-kind pieces you’ll find nowhere else. We couldn’t have asked for a place more perfect for our theme. A special thanks to Kerry for letting us use her awesome store! If you’re local to Baton Rouge, you can check out the amazingness for yourself at 2963 Government st.

Just in case you needed another reason to shop at Frock Candy… rumor has it that the cast of the new Twilight Saga movie: Breaking Dawn is staying at the Perkins Rowe Condos just above our store! If you are a fan of the series, I’m sure you already knew that they are filming the last two installments of the franchise phenomenon in Louisiana, and it’s kicking off right here in Baton Rouge.
