Add a little edge to your everyday ensemble with some wax coated skinnies. These have basically become a staple piece in our closet, and we’re already thinking of ways to wear them into the transitional months. Pair them with a breezy tunic top and layer on a cropped moto jacket or a flowy cardigan if it’s a little cooler.

Printed pants are undoubtedly one of the hottest ticket items for the Spring. We are loving the neutral colors of this Aztec print – it pairs up perfectly with the punchy brights  of the season. Style with neutral pumps for a safe bet, or add some colorful wedges for an extra pop.

Speaking of punchy brights, we are wild about the bold color palette for Spring! Citrusy neons and super-saturated takes on pastels make for a cheery season. We are all about the layering trend right now, and not just because it looks adorable. This look is completely functional for those crazy weather days or transitioning your wardrobe from winter to spring, not to mention it gives you a whole new way to look at your wardrobe. So how do you make it look put-together and not like you just piled on all of your clean clothes? We’ve broken it down into a law of threes.

We’ve found that this look works best when you have three layers at most. Anything more starts to look overboard. But how do you put it all together?

1. Start with a classic piece, like an oxford or chambray button down. You can’t go wrong with your old stand-by’s, but it’s time to give them a little update…
2. Add some dimension with a patterned sweater. Make sure to let your bottom layer peek out! You’ve already freshened up a basic piece, so you can stop here or keep piling it on…
3. Going for the gusto? Top it off with a statement piece, like a studded military vest or  a leather sleeved jacket. Don’t want to go trend-crazy? Top it off with another classic instead, like a chic blazer or peacoat.

There you have it – that’s pretty much a no-fail formula, but don’t be afraid to get creative and mix it up even more!

• Try starting with a patterned button down instead and layering on a solid sweater. Then if you’re really feeling brave, you can wear it with complimentary patterned pants. What’s complimentary? Think striped top and polka dot skinnies. The solid layer helps tone it done and bring it all together.
• Layer up your outerwear for added appeal. Wear a vest under a blazer for a modern twist on the three-piece-suit look.
• Pile it on over a dress. Wear a sweater or furry vest over your favorite shirt dress to make it wearable on cooler days.
